Self-Care is a part of overall wellness

In today’s fast-paced world, it can seem challenging to slow down and just enjoy some time for yourself or “me time” as I like to call it. With technology at our fingertips, we’re expected to be constantly accessible to work, friends, and family, and making time for ourselves — time to just sit, think, and not be productive for a few minutes.

You’ve probably noticed the growing self-love movement where everyone is sharing how they’re taking time to take care of themselves, whether it’s taking a bath, reading a good book, baking a batch of your favorite cookies, or sipping on a mug of hot tea while snuggled up in a blanket. I schedule “me time” in my calendar, every single week. Some weeks it’s only 30 minutes, others it’s an entire day. I’ve found that by planning out the exact day and time that I’m going to devote to self-care, I treat it as a non-negotiable. I shift things around in my schedule to create the time because I know how important it is to my health. One of those regular activities is simply making a hot cup of tea and reading a good book. It’s my favorite!

Tea is a great way to relax in the evening

Speaking of tea, I have been incorporating more tea into my daily life and let me tell you, I’ve really been enjoying how tea makes me feel. I like to sip on black teas in the morning for a little energy boost and herbal teas in the evening to wind down and relax.
