This smoothie is rich in antioxidants from the blueberries, fiber from the frozen cauliflower, healthy fats from avocado and rich in plant-based protein.
By now you probably know that I am a huge fan of adding frozen zucchini to my smoothies to make them super thick and creamy. It’s the easiest way to sneak in extra veggies without sacrificing any flavor!
Fruit is wonderful to have in your diet, especially when it comes to beautiful hair and skin. It is loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, and fiber. However, you can’t forget that fruit contains sugar.
Sometimes too much fruit can mean too much sugar. I discovered that adding frozen vegetables to my smoothies was a great way to cut down on the amount of fruit I needed. If you’re trying to cut sugar out of your diet (or are just looking for a brief reset your system), that probably means saying goodbye to those added fruits. This smoothie is a great option!
Vegetable-based smoothies are also more alkaline than their often acidic fruit counterparts, which means they’ll help optimize your energy. Who doesn’t want more energy from the food they eat? I have found the two best vegetables to add to smoothies (besides spinach, celery, and romaine in my daily green smoothie) are frozen cauliflower and zucchini. They are a great replacement for a frozen banana to still get that creamy consistency. You don’t even taste the veggies!
