The proven formula we’re talking about today is called The 5 Ones.
These “5 Ones” is a principle that has been around for a while, so it’s not some new ground-breaking concept. I first heard about the power of 5 Ones from Christina Jandali, who is a Facebook Group expert. After I learned about this simple, yet highly effective concept, I applied it to my own business, and low and behold – it worked!
And this is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme! Just like there’s no magic pill to lose weight, there’s no way to snap your fingers to make a million dollars.
The 5 Ones helped me grow to 6 figures and have helped countless Business Breakthrough students scale to 6 figures in their businesses as well, so pay attention!
The 5 Ones:
- One target market
- One problem you solve
- One system for getting clients
- One offer
- For one year
Now the five ones are all connected. You can’t ignore one and expect to get similar results. You need to do all of them. No short-cuts here! So be sure to read this blog post to the end.
First One: One Target Market
You read that right. ONE target market. This is the foundation of your business. We want to make sure that you are super clear on the one market that you are going to serve.
For example, if you’re a health coach, your target market could be as specific as helping postpartum moms balance their hormones. You will focus on that ONE target market. This is how you pave the path of becoming an EXPERT in the industry you serve. If you’re bouncing from market to market, that might be okay in the beginning to see what work you like, but you will see no growth or scale in your business from it.
Now, you might be thinking, “Aren’t I limiting the number of people I can reach by only serving one market?” And the answer is no. You want to talk to an audience that is already interested in what you have to offer and not a massive audience that may or may not be interested in your area of expertise. Make sense?
I had a client who coached women who were transitioning from hormonal birth control to natural birth control – now that’s specific!
Second One: One Problem
I always tell my clients that as an entrepreneur, you are a problem solver. You don’t need to try to solve every single problem that someone has. All you need is to focus on solving ONE problem. It’s much easier to scale your business when you get really good at solving one problem.
When you put all your efforts into solving that one problem, you become viewed as an expert. You’ll start to become the go-to person with all the answers to this problem. This also makes for great word-of-mouth referrals because you will be top of mind!
If you jump around from problem to problem, trying to be one thing to one person and something else to another, then your potential clients won’t trust you as much as they will someone who’s established themselves already as someone who’s able to solve their specific problem.
Third One: One System
After you’ve found a problem to solve, you’re going to need ONE system for getting clients. This is something I wish I would have understood earlier on as a health coach. I thought I needed to be on Facebook Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube, have a podcast, etc. in order to be successful, which is not true! I have clients who aren’t on Instagram and just use Facebook as their lead generator. I have others who love Instagram and aren’t on Facebook.
You can be successful with whatever platform you choose! Just pick one, put consistent effort into growing it and building your audience and you will see a return on the investment. If you put effort into five different systems or ways to get clients, you’ll see super slow and inconsistent results from each one. If you focus on perfecting just one system for getting clients, you’ll become so good and efficient at it that you’ll have so many leads you don’t know what to do with all of them. Now that’s the ultimate goal!
Fourth One: One Offer
This might be the most common one I see most health coaches struggle with early on in their business. If you’re offering four different programs, people aren’t going to know what you’re an expert in and ultimately, it leaves them feeling confused. My business coach always reminds me, “a confused mind does nothing”. You need to be super clear in the ONE offer you have. Why is this the best offer out there? Focus on sharing that rather than creating more programs.
This also allows you to tweak and refine this offer and make it so irresistible that your potential clients look at it as a no-brainer because of how well you’ve positioned it. You couldn’t do that with three different offers. So stay focused on your one offer in your business.

Fifth One: One Year
The most important of them all – ONE year. Are you wondering, how can I grow my business to 6-figures if I’m only working in one market, solving one problem, with one system, and selling one offer? I know what you’re thinking – that feels very limiting. That’s where the magic of one year comes into play.
Understand that your business will slowly evolve and change as you grow; this formula doesn’t deny that. But if you don’t commit yourself to the last 4 Ones, you won’t have much of a business to scale in the first place. And that’s where people sometimes go wrong. They watch what so many other people are doing in their businesses and think they have to implement similar strategies.
However, the truth is that you don’t know what that person is doing behind the scenes. Or how long they’ve been working on their business and the motivation behind why they’re making whatever decision they’re making. The 5 Ones offer that clarity. If you follow them, you’ll have a solid business, and THEN you can start making changes down the road.
