Thinking back to when I was an engineer, I would sit at my desk and google “how to make 6 figures as a health coach” (this was once I started my health coaching certification through IIN). I was so motivated to leave my 9-5 as quickly as possible but honestly didn’t know how I was going to make it happen since I had quite a cushy corporate salary. I had this belief that there was no way I could make more money as a health coach than as an engineer I had just spent over four years going to college. Can you relate to this feeling?
I started doing loads of research and came up with a strategy that helped me replace my corporate engineering salary and run my business full-time. Today, I teach that EXACT strategy and roadmap to my business coaching clients who are ready to leave their 9-5 jobs and set out on their own!
There are 3 elements that I coach my clients through to help them create a 6-figure health coaching business:
Offering
You need an irresistible offer. What do I mean by irresistible? Something that people can’t refuse because they see the value. Your ideal clients aren’t looking for a program or online course. They’re looking for a solution to a problem they have. Once you know how to position your offers to appeal to your ideal clients’ wants and desires, you’ll have more people enrolling in your programs.
I’ve learned that there are three things that people are willing to pay for:
- Something that makes them feel better (for example, weight loss, clear skin)
- Something that makes them be better. (for example, more loving, more patient)
- Something that makes them have more. (for example, more time, more freedom)

Audience
This is key. You need to nail down your ideal client and create messaging that aligns with their pain points. Speak to the specific pain points and how your services lead to a specific outcome. Once you master your messaging, you will find it very easy to sell your services. Now, you might be wondering “how do I find out where your audience hangs out online?” For example, your audience might hang out in Facebook groups (health-focused groups), LinkedIn, or Reddit. So how do you find your target groups? Go to the platform of your choice. Type in a keyword that describes your niche. Join the group and start contributing to the community! Do this regularly in your groups and you’ll quickly build those relationships with your target audience.
Price
Your price point is very important and often where coaches get stuck. A good rule of thumb for health coaches is to offer a 6-month coaching package where you support your clients with bi-weekly calls. You can price your package around the $1,200 – $1,500 range to start and offer monthly payment options.
