An absolutely delicious green smoothie made with spinach, banana, pineapple, ginger, and lemon. Not only is it so bright and inviting, but your body will thank you for all of the wonderful health benefits!
Where do I even begin with the incrediable benefits of green smoothies? They’re nutrient dense and extremely alkalining.
Why is it so important to maintain an alkaline diet? To put it simply, the main reason is to balance your body’s pH levels. pH is a measure of how acidic or alkaline something is and our blood pH needs to maintain a slightly alkaline level to keep us healthy. We help our bodies maintain this pH balance by eating more alkaline-forming foods and fewer acid-forming foods.
The general rule of thumb is to eat a diet of 60-80% alkaline-forming foods and 20-40% acid-forming foods. One way to start your day off on the right track is to sip on a green smoothie that is made up of alkalizing fruits and vegetables.
The ginger is this smoothie is also extremely beneficial for healthy digestion. It is also anti-inflammatory and is soothing on upset stomachs.
We’re keeping it simple with this smoothie and using spinach as the green base, banana, frozen pineapple, fresh ginger, and fresh lemon juice.
